Once you found out you were pregnant, you started taking the best possible care of yourself. You took prenatal vitamins, drank plenty of water, and ate a healthy well balanced diet. All of that is great, but have you considered exposure to toxins from the environment. It is never too late to reduce exposure to potential toxins, and household cleaners are a great place to start.

You may be wondering if non-toxic cleaners really get your house clean, and they do. Not only are there many green cleaners available on the market, you can make many yourself. Use baking soda as a scouring agent on non-scratch countertops, bathtubs, and sinks. Vinegar or lemon juice make a great cleaner for wooden chopping blocks. Make a vinegar and water solution to clean windows and mirrors.

Nicely done. Great tips. I really like how you write and enjoy reading your blog. Thanks.
You can buy all green cleaning supplies from a place in Idaho called Melaleuca. I am just in the process of switching to them. I am not creative enough to make my own, but I am all about using products that are not going to be a danger to my kids.
I love to use Cream of Tartar as a degreaser, a sliced lemon in a coffee mug of water to completely degrease and disinfect my microwave, salt is a great disinfectant. Use a bowl of salt in the air to disinfect germs or in a hot pot of water. I also love to use Holy Cow, they are a great product and green and totally safe for kids and every cleaning chore you can think of, this is the ONLY product I buy.
I love Seventh Generation products, and Dapple cleaners! I never hesitate to use them on my son’s highchair tray as they are all natural plant based cleaners.

My favorite green cleaning products have been around forever – baking soda and vinegar (not necessarily together). Cheap, safe, and always available in the kitchen!
Everyone, thanks for your tips, they’re so helpful!
We use reusable rags instead of paper towels, whenever possible.
